[Best Book Review] The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

I read “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain. In this book, Huckleberry Finn is the main character. He is a very clever and crafty boy. When Huck was at Widow Douglas’s house, there was a slave called Jim. Jim ran away when Huck ran away from his dad, who was very violent. Jim and Huck adventured together.

Huck’s adventures were very interesting and made me excited. Huck made a great plan to escape from his violent father. He made up a fictitious story which made people think Huck was killed by someone. I wondered how he made up such a clever plan. If I were Huck, I would have been caught by his father! I was attracted by his interesting adventures and I wanted to go out and have an adventure, too. His father was his only family member, but he harassed Huck and tried to steal Huck’s money. But Huck adventured with Jim and got out of danger. He was as clever as Tom Sawyer, who was Huck’s best friend. Tom was the main character of “The Adventure of Tom Sawyer” which was also written by Mark Twain and is very famous.

This book was also a little bit about slavery. I read “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” by Harriet Beecher Stowe. That book was about how slavery is miserable. These two books have differences. “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” shows how miserable slavery is, but “The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn” shows the tragic side of slavery. At that time, black slaves were traded by white people. They had to be separated from their families and work for white people. Huck tried to make Jim free and I could learn courage to do the right thing. And I could also learn about slavery. I would like to recommend this book to my two younger brothers because they are clever like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
