The Eiffel Tower

One of the most famous monuments around the world is undoubtedly the Eiffel Tower. Even kids in different countries dream of going to Paris to see this enormous building.

The Eiffel Tower is a huge iron tower in France. It is named after Gustave Eiffel, the engineer of this tower. They made this huge tower for the world fair in Paris. The iron of the tower weighs 7,300 tons, and the addition of elevators, antennas, and other things is almost 10,100 tons! When it was first built, people were shocked because the tower was so big. Because the tower was so huge and big, Mr. Gustave Eiffel and his team had to think about wind powers. The Eiffel Tower sways by over 9 centimeters in the wind.

Unfortunately, it was not welcomed by all in the beginning. One man claimed to say that he had to go to the post office. If he walked past the Eiffel Tower, it would take 1 minute, but he hated it so much and went around the road that he can’t see it. It took him an hour!

More than 250,000,000 people have visited the tower since it was made in 1889. The Tower has two restaurants, “Le Jules Verne” and “Le 58 Eiffel”. Le 58 Eiffel has a really nice chef. I want to try his food. Le Jules Verne’s owner is Jules Verne, a famous science- fiction author. He wrote ’20,000 Leagues under the sea. I want to go there too, because I want to meet the best seller.
